The pavement studies are textured relief prints examining the decay and complexity of asphalt. The pieces resemble graphite rubbings and evoke black and white aerial photography. They are created by securing paper to pavement and allowing automobile traffic to imprint onto them. The work records the passage of time and is a collaborative exchange with the city.
